DNAFSMiner: a web-based software toolbox to recognize two types of functional sites in DNA sequences
نویسندگان
چکیده
UNLABELLED DNAFSMiner (DNA Functional Sites Miner) is a web-based software toolbox to recognize functional sites in nucleic acid sequences. Currently in this toolbox, we provide two software: TIS Miner and Poly(A) Signal Miner. The TIS Miner can be used to predict translation initiation sites in vertebrate DNA/mRNA/cDNA sequences, and the Poly(A) Signal Miner can be used to predict polyadenylation [poly(A)] signals in human DNA sequences. The prediction results are better than those by literature methods on two benchmark applications. This good performance is mainly attributable to our unique learning method. DNAFSMiner is available free of charge for academic and non-profit organizations. AVAILABILITY http://research.i2r.a-star.edu.sg/DNAFSMiner/ CONTACT [email protected].

The Phylogeny of Calligonum and Pteropyrum (Polygonaceae) Based on Nuclear Ribosomal DNA ITS and Chloroplast trnL-F Sequences
This study represents phylogenetic analyses of two woody polygonaceous genera Calligonum and Pteropyrum using both chloroplast fragment (trnL-F) and the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (nrDNA ITS) sequence data. All inferred phylogenies using parsimony and Bayesian methods showed that Calligonum and Pteropyrum are both monophyletic and closely related taxa. They have no affinity w...

متن کاملGenetic diversity in the Persian sturgeon, Acipenser percicus, from the south Caspian Sea based on mitochondrial DNA sequences of the control region
The Persian sturgeon, Acipenser persicus (Borodin, 1897), is an economically important species, which mainly inhabits the Caspian Sea. However, little is known about its population genetic structure. In this study, variation in nucleotide sequences of the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) control region of wild stock Persian sturgeon was determined to assess the genetic diversity among different natura...
متن کاملMolecular and Bioinformatics Analysis of Allelic Diversity in IGFBP2 Gene Promoter in Indigenous Makuee and Lori-Bakhtiari Sheep Breeds
The aim of this study was to perform molecular and bioinformatics analysis of IGFBP2 gene promoter in association with some economic traits in indigenous Makuee (MS) and Lori-Bakhtiari (LB) breeds. DNA was extracted from blood samples of 120 MS and 200 LB and a 297 bp fragment from the upstream sequences of studied gene was amplified and genotyped by single-strand conformational polymo...
